Last Gasp of Summer Sizzling Read-LOVE AT HIGH TIDE Only $0.99!

Trying to cram in fun and reading and relaxation over the holiday weekend? Let me help! My short, sassy and sexy summer beach read is still only $0.99 on Amazon (but I have a feeling that is going to end very soon). If you can't get to the beach this weekend, it'll take you there virtually. Here's a STEAMY snippet from it to get you going!

“I promise you’re not going to be cold much longer.” Coop climbed the rungs of the high-backed lifeguard chair. Once on top, he sat and easily slid Darcy right into his lap. She leaned her head against his shoulder.
“This is wonderful. I feel like I’m on a throne. Queen of the ocean.”
“Well, Poseidon himself did sort of deliver you to me on that wave yesterday. I get my Greek and Roman goddesses mixed up. What would that make you? Aphrodite? Venus?”
“Ha-ha. I’m no goddess.”
“Guess that PhD doesn’t make you so smart after all. Because you are most definitely a beautiful goddess.” To stop her protest, Coop brushed a kiss across her lips. She melted into his embrace. So soft, so yielding. Darcy opened her mouth on a moan. The invitation didn’t get lost on Coop. He deepened the kiss, thrusting his tongue inside. Tasting, touching, learning more about what she liked with every stroke.
His whole body thrummed with lust, like the insistent bass reverb at a rock concert. Easing her back against his arm, Coop gave himself better access to the lusciousness of her breasts. He grabbed the zipper of her borrowed hoodie between his teeth and slowly pulled it down. Darcy squirmed a little. This time it burrowed her deeper into his lap as she threw her legs over the arms of the oversized chair. Beneath the jacket she wore only her bright red bikini top. All it did was offer her breasts up to him. Her beautiful, creamy mounds drew him closer.
“Don’t tease me,” Darcy whispered. “Taste me.”
Never let it be said he didn’t deliver on such a request. Coop nibbled his way down her neck to her collarbone. There he switched to long, slow licks. Like following a topographic map, he traced the clavicle to her sternum. And from there, he used his tongue like a paint brush. Swirling, licking, nuzzling, tickling. It didn’t take long before Darcy rose up to meet him. Each breath a pant, each arch of her back driving him closer to the edge of the taut fabric.
Instead of nosing it aside, Coop sucked the slightly salty fabric into his mouth. Her nipple immediately peaked from the suction. His left hand reached for her other breast, tracing circles on top of the fabric around her nipple until it also rose. Darcy’s hands ran through his hair. She pulled him closer, which was exactly where he wanted to be. His tongue swept aside the damp fabric and he laved her nipple directly. The soft, slightly puckered skin felt so good between his lips. Coop groaned, and the vibration seemed to inflame Darcy.
Suddenly holding her on his lap turned into a difficult, if not bad, idea. The friction between her oh-so-sweet ass shifting back and forth against his rock-hard cock could drive him right over the edge. It took a bit of maneuvering, but Coop managed to slide out from beneath Darcy. Now she alone sat in the chair, arms braced on each armrest. Coop stepped down two wide rungs. He grabbed her hips and pulled her to the edge of the seat. Now they lined up perfectly. His right hand kept molding her ass while his left did the same to her breast. The rhythm of his squeezes matched the slight bucking of her hips.
She used her hands to pull him close again. Chuckling, Coop teased his way down her stomach. He felt her diaphragm contract with every lick, every twitch he pulled out of her. All the blood pooling between his legs pulsed to the same beat. Darcy clawed his shirt up and over his head. Then she resumed stroking his back, nails digging in slightly as payback for every nip of his teeth against her flesh. Coop reveled in the cool night breeze against his overheated skin. Her response had driven him up so fast, so hard. Darcy seemed to be right there with him. This was the most fun he’d had in, well, a very long time. And Coop didn’t want to rush it, no matter how great the need to drive himself into her.
Christ. They couldn’t do this out in the open in a lifeguard chair. Darcy pushed him to the edge of reason, but Coop vowed to cling by his fingertips. He pulled her bikini top back into place. Resettled the jacket from where it had fallen to her waist back up at her shoulders. “Darcy, you have no idea how hard this is for me to say—”
“Oh, I think I know exactly how hard it is.” With a low, throaty chuckle, she palmed him through his shorts. The sensation almost catapulted him backward. God almighty, the woman knew how and where to touch to melt a man into a lava pool of need.

Take an $0.89 Trip to the Beach Between the Pages of LOVE AT HIGH TIDE

The summer fling is a storyline revisited in movies all the time, guaranteed to instill vacation lust as well as the old-fashioned sexy kind. Remember the sweeping lake views in Dirty Dancing, the careening scooter ride past ruins and statues in Roman Holiday, and of course, Grease, which kicked off with a great beach montage? To me, a big part of the allure of summer fling stories is that they give you a mini-vacation from the squishy comfort of your couch. And they only cost five dollars, as opposed to nearly a thousand dollars once you add up the flight, hotel, and three meals a day.

Don’t get me wrong—anyplace a hot guy flashes a smile is a good enough place to have a fling. In fact, I once had a delightfully sweet summer fling that consisted solely of days in the crowded commissary and asphalt parking lot of Universal Studios. But to my mind, the absolute best place for a summer fling is a beach. The whole point of a beach is to walk around nearly naked all day and have people rub lotion/oil on you. It is sooo inherently sexy it is like a writer taking creativity-laced candy from a baby half-buried in the sand.

Love At High Tide isn’t just a love story. It is a story that share my absolute idolization of a spending a week at the beach. My husband prefers the mountains—and they’re lovely, too—but for me, nothing says summer like sand between my toes and an umbrella overhead. My heroine agrees:
Finally. Since time immemorial humanity had been searching for it, and she, Darcy Trent, had finally found Eden. This wasn’t merely an educated guess on her part. Raised by an archeologist and an ancient worlds specialist, she’d quite literally cut her teeth (to her parents’ shock and dismay at her reckless disregard for leaving drool on antique texts) on all things dusty, old and priceless. With two degrees in cultural anthropology under her belt—soon to be followed by the coveted third, which would enable her to precede her name forever with the all-important title of doctor—Darcy could quite rightly claim decades of study and research had led her to this all-important, incontrovertible discovery. She closed her eyes to savor the moment.
“A seagull just pooped on my toe.”
Darcy’s eyes popped back open. Trina, her best friend since their matching-pigtail days, sat on a watermelon pink and green towel, surveying the toe in question with a glum look.
Darcy slid a little lower in her beach chair and sighed. “Trina, I’m having a moment here.”
“And you can go back to your magic moment once I rinse off my toe. Come with me.”
Yup, reality had a perfect track record for slapping Darcy in the face the second she let her guard down. Evidently Ocean City, Maryland wasn’t cut out to be Eden after all. But it sure felt like it.
The beach is all about sensuous feelings; silken sand underfoot, a warm breeze, sun baking into your skin, water swirling around you. Add a hot guy to that mix and you have the basic ingredients for a great summer fling. And from now through August 10, it is only $0.89 - so click here to grab your copy!

$0.99 #Sale On The Ultimate Sassy & Sexy Beach Read!

Summer - if you don't actually go to the beach, you sure wish you could. I've got the ultimate beach read for you. Love At High Tide is short, sexy, sassy, hilarious, and best of all, actually takes place AT the beach! Plus, you're going to want to grab it now because the sequel, Love On The Boardwalk, comes out in September.

Darcy Trent is lucky Cooper Hudson is on hand to sweep her off her feet—literally—when she nearly drowns while swimming in the ocean. But life-saving aside, Mr. Perfect's timing stinks: Darcy's career is about to take her to the complete opposite side of the Atlantic. Still, a little summer loving with the tall, blond and sexy former cop is far too tempting to pass up.

When his plans to enter the Secret Service went south thanks to a bum knee, Coop retreated to the family beach house to mull his future. Romance is the last thing on his mind, until he fishes a curvy brunette out of the sea. Now, spending time in Darcy's arms seems like the ideal distraction, even if it is just for a week.

But with Darcy's departure date fast approaching and their careers on the line, can they realize in time that their beach fling might become the real thing?

Get your feet wet with this snippet:

“Thanks for the rescue. If you hadn’t grabbed me, I’d still be doing somersaults underwater. In my book, that qualifies you for hero status.”
An unreadable emotion flickered across his eyes so fast she almost missed it. In a low mutter, he said, “Don’t call me a hero.” He hit the hard-packed sand at the edge of the water and stopped walking.
Modest, heroic and gorgeous. And it didn’t take even a fraction of her eight years of training in cultural anthropology to figure out he was attracted to her. They’d long since hit land, and yet he made no move to put her down. Not that she was complaining. She’d happily continue to sit cradled in his arms. It gave her an up-close view of his chiseled cheekbones, sharp enough to etch glass. Her fingers brushed through the salt-spiked tips of his blond hair. No doubt about it: she’d found the man candy Trina had promised. One bite of him would be as sinful and addictive as a chocolate honey truffle.
“Well, I can’t call you Mr. In-The-Right-Place-At-The-Right-Time.” When his lips curled up showing off his dimple, Darcy’s interest kicked up a notch.
“Good point. I’m Cooper Hudson. Coop, to my friends.”
“Darcy Trent.”
“It’s been a long time since I met an ocean virgin.”
“Oh, but only in the aquatic sense, I assure you.” What? Why wave her long-vanished virginity under his nose? Now he probably thought she had the morals of an alley cat. But hearing the hottest man she’d ever seen use the word virgin threw her for a loop. Not the standard nice-to-meet-you conversation, by a long shot.
He flashed an easy smile. “Don’t worry. I hadn’t planned on delivering you as a virgin sacrifice to appease the volcano gods over at the mini-golf course.”
Okay, now Darcy could add funny to the list of his overwhelming awesomeness. Maybe she really had blacked out and was hallucinating her ideal man while unconscious, underwater. What else could explain such perfection?
“Darcy, what happened?” Trina’s yell preceded her appearance in front of them. After a quick yank upward to her scrap of a top, she rested her hand on Darcy’s leg. “Why’s he carrying you? Did you get stung in the foot by a jellyfish? ’Cause if you did, I’ll pee on it. That’ll take the sting away.”
That certainly settled the whole am-I-hallucinating question. Never, ever would Darcy fantasize about her best friend peeing on her. The situation had to be real. And if Trina in all her adorable annoyingness was real, then her hot hero hunk had to be real, too.
To her dismay, Cooper lowered her to the ground.
“Your friend’s fine,” Cooper announced. “A wave almost rolled her, so she’s a little shaken up, but uninjured.”
“You keep your distance,” Darcy warned with a hand raised to keep Trina at arm’s length. “Don’t even think about peeing on me. Not even if I get attacked by an entire school of jellyfish.”
Trina wrinkled her nose. “Okay, but if the situation arises, just remember that I would be willing to make that sacrifice.”
“Friendship is a beautiful thing.” Cooper’s sardonic tone belied the sincerity of his expression.
